People always ask me, "What is Twitter? I don’t understand". People go to Twitter.com and look at the public timeline. Once looking at it for a while, people question, "What is the point?" The public timeline is really not that easy to follow and not the main point of Twitter. Twitter is called a micro blogging website. It is like a blog but not. It is like SMS on hyperactive drugs.
Twitter can be used to tell all of your friends what you currently are doing. Imagine sitting down and adding all your friends to a text message and sending out a mass message. When all you have to do it sms a single number and everyone following gets the message.
It can also promote whatever you are doing. For example writing a blog or something that you want to make popular. It makes the public commercialization personal. There is someone behind the product that you get to share with. Ending with that note.
